DSU Game Updates

Last week, DSU took on West Georgia. Once again, the Statesmen did not make it an easy game for us fans but in the end they were able to pull off the win in a 4th quarter comeback. Here is a recap of the game from Delta State Athletics.
                                                     DSU vs West Georgia

Jamey captured his 25th career victory with the win against W. GA. He is 25-17 in his 4 seasons as a college head coach, including a 22-14 record at NGU in his 3 seasons. Currently he is 3-3 here at DSU.

This past Saturday (Oct 20), the team traveled to Georgia to take on rival Valdosta State, their 3rd opponent from GA. DSU's record prior to this game was 3-3 overall and 1-1 in GS conference play. While Valdosta State was 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Offensive fireworks started early in this game as VSU made their first touchdown on the 3rd play of the game. DSU answered quickly with a touchdown of their own making it 7-7. By halftime the score was 31-20, VSU. The 3rd quarter was a big one for the DS offense as they had 21 unanswered points clinching a 41-38 lead. Unfortunately the lead was short lived as VSU scored with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. In the end, DSU fell to VSU 59-41.

DSU vs. Valdosta State

DSU has 2 more GSC opponents left this season. They take on West Alabama this week for Homecoming (game time set for 4pm) and have to travel to GA once again to take on Shorter College on Nov. 10.
