CSU vs Citadel

In the season opener, CSU took on cross town rival The Citadel. What an exciting game it was! Though it didn't start out that way when the Citadel took a 16-0 lead just minutes before halftime. We were able to strike back and change the momentum of the game.

Jamey always tells his team to continue to "Strike the Stone". If you haven't heard the story of how the slogan came about, let me give you a short version of it. Jamey tells his players to keep pounding away at the stone. You may not break it the first time, the second time, or even the third time but eventually as you keep pounding away the stone will begin to break and you will achieve something big. This is exactly what they did against the Citadel.

The game was back and forth. We scored, then they would score. Our defense was able to make two stops at the end which proved to be big! If this picture doesn't show their excitement then I don't know what will...

The final score of the game was 32-29. The Citadel and CSU have met a total of 7 times. CSU has only won 2 times, once when Jamey was under head coach Jay Mills and this past Saturday which made the 2nd win for them.

Of course as you would expect, Jamey was showered by a cold cooler of water :)

In which afterwards, he gave his post game interviews just a tad bit wet

Below are some links to the articles written as well as a few of the sports broadcasts
(these are mostly just so I have record of them)

Next week we take on Shorter College (GA) at 11am for our home opener
